Matt is the Founder and CEO of Georgia Matters, a connected and courageous Government Relations Firm, and serves as the Executive Director for the Coastal Entertainment Alliance. He is a Keynote speaker and corporate trainer who delivers speeches and workshops that are entertaining and heartwarming. Matt is a connection specialist who enjoys helping others develop a positive influence while enhancing their impact.

His professional career began at the age of nineteen working as a Savannah Railroad Conductor and In 2012, Matt was elected statewide by Georgia’s Railroad workers to serve as the Georgia Legislative Director, a role in which he spent years working with business owners and elected officials throughout the state on important economic and industry initiatives. Matt has won numerous awards and recognitions including Progressive Railroading’s Rising Star Award and a James Magazine’s ranking as a 2023 Top Government Relations Firm. His favorite award came from his Georgia State Capitol peers during the 2020 Golden Pigeon Award Banquet, naming him the Yosemite Sam Pigeon “the only Lobbyist crazy enough to go in guns-a-blazing against a giant corporation”.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp appointed Matt to the Georgia Commission for Service and Volunteerism, where he now serves as Board Chairman, overseeing the distribution of AmeriCorps funds to deserving organizations throughout the state. In addition, Matt serves on the Board of Directors for the Entertainment Tourism Alliance of Georgia, the Richmond Hill / Bryan County Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Professional Lobbyists Association, and is a member of the National Speakers Association, among other roles. He is an advocate for mental health, leading the non-profit Michael C. Harte Foundation in their mission to eliminate the disease of suicide.

Matt is a native of Coastal Georgia, an alumnus of Kennesaw State University and Leadership Bryan, and a lifelong fan of the back-to-back college football national champions– the Georgia Bulldogs. He and his wife Chrissy live in Richmond Hill, and have three children, daughter Mary Kathryn, son Tristan, and their sweet Michael in Heaven.
