CEO of Latin Chicks
Mary Githens originally from Lima, Peru arrived in the states at the age of 17. Earned a degree in Economics from GSU, Armstrong Campus where she met her business partner and started her first serious business venture in 2009 at the age of 23. Latin Chicks Restaurant was born. Pioneers in serving Latin American cuisine in Savannah, the restaurant recently celebrated its 13th year anniversary. An entrepreneur at heart participated in several side hustles since the age of 17. She also worked in the banking and financial industries.
Earned an MBA from Mercer University. In 2017 became the sole owner of her restaurant, and she launched a food truck and extended the catering line to the film industry. In early 2020, her second food truck Vida Fresh was launched as well as her new restaurant bar in downtown Savannah: Mint to Be – Mojito Bar & Bites. Her most recent addition was her Speakeasy Bar – La Aparicion featuring signature craft cocktails. In 2023, she will be taking on a bigger project at Eastern Wharf, unifying both of her brands under one roof. While being a full-time Entrepreneur, she also loves to dance, invest in real estate, and is also an avid traveler.
