Founder and CEO, A Touch of Blakk
Alix is a native of Savannah. He is a 2014 graduate of Windsor Forest High School. Alix has always had a charming and outgoing personality and an enterprising spirit. At the age of nine Alix started his own dog-walking business, AJ’s Pampered Pets. That was his very first business undertaking, but it certainly not his last. In 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, Alix launched “A Touch of Black” a premiere and quality t-shirt and monogramming business. A Touch of Black started as an idea to give people exposure to the African American culture and experience through the creation of T-shirt logos and designs that have uplifting and positive images of the African American experience. It blossomed from an idea to a bona fide business. His signature shirt is the famous “Minding My Own Black Owned Business” shirt.
Alix is not just about making money, but he wants to make a difference. He has a passion for bringing awareness to Black-owned businesses. He believes that many Black-owned businesses, particularly businesses owned by millennials, do not prosper, because they do not always have sufficient exposure and platforms. It was out of this belief that Alix launched the First Annual Black Business Expo, which was successful in bringing together over 50 Black millennial business owners. Alix is also a motivational speaker who speaks at various community events. His greatest joy is spending time with his four adorable children, Alix, Ashton, Ali & Alani.
